By Chere Pinkston, Chaplain and Licensed Unity Teacher
When you need someone to help you get through a tough time, ask a chaplain to pray with you. We go to prayer because it helps us step aside, let go, and have a quiet time of listening and loving. Prayer is a means of making a shift in our perception, for changing our minds about our situation, rather than changing the situation. Prayer puts us back on track. Through the quiet time of joining with our Source, we are reminded of the peace and serenity that is our true inheritance. A Chaplain does not try to solve your problem, he/she just stands beside you and helps to raise you up to Spirit. As we truly understand and practice together the Power of Prayer, we will recognize that our prayers are answered. Prayer is a blessing of love between you and God-Mind.
So, ask a Chaplain to pray with you after church on Sunday mornings. Ask your Chaplain who calls you each month offering prayer to pray with you. Prayer works!
Remember also to tell Source how much you appreciate all the Blessings you have received lately. The more you say “Thank You”, the more you will have to say “Thank You” for. Ask a Chaplain to pray with you. It will make their day as well as yours.

To be a Chaplain means to serve God and our Church. It presents us with a way to grow Spiritually. It means “walking the walk as you practice the talk” of Truth. It is helping others find their own knowledge and understanding by calling their attention to what they have and to prompt them to use it through prayer.
